Dr. Gregory Bentsen
Principal Investigator

Dr. Gregory Bentsen

Dr. Bentsen is a theoretical physicist working at the intersection of Quantum Information Science (QIS) and Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics. He obtained his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2019 working in the Schleier-Smith lab, where he helped to design, build, and operate a Cavity QED experiment engineered to rapidly entangle ensembles of Rubidium 87 atoms for applications in precision metrology and fundamental studies of quantum many-body physics.

During his postdoc in the Swingle group at Brandeis University, he focused on theoretical models of quantum information scrambling including studies of entanglement phase transitions in random quantum circuits. He is currently a faculty member in the Physics Department at The College of William & Mary, where his research group focuses on applying quantum many-body dynamics to information processing, quantum computing, and precision metrology applications.

Michael Sizemore
Ph.D. Candidate

Michael Sizemore

Michael graduated from the University of Arizona in 2021 with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. He is now a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the Physics Department at William & Mary in the Bentsen group. His research focus is theoretical quantum information science, particularly random circuits and quantum advantage.

Jasmine Albert

Jasmine is a third-year Ph.D. student in the William & Mary Department of Physics. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2023 with a B.S. in Physics and minors in Astronomy, Mathematics, and Psychology. She currently works in theoretical quantum information science with primary interests in precision metrology and cavity QED.

Samuel Bevins

Samuel Bevins

Sam is a third-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Physics at the College of William & Mary. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2023 with a B.S. in Pure Mathematics and a B.S. in Physics. He currently works in theoretical quantum information science with a primary interest in the development of quantum error-correcting codes and decoding algorithms.
