(5). Motion of tight-binding electrons. (inherited from my graduate school days) We consider an s-state tight-binding band for a simple cubic lattice with lattice constant a. At time t=0 an electron is at rest. A uniform DC field E is turned on.

• What is the trajectory of the electron in real space, i.e., what are the electron coordinates x, y, and z as a function of t ?
• Assume E is in a [120] direction. Sketch the trajectory.
