- Prerequisites: High-school algebra; some interest in and knowledge of music;
willingness to use a Macintosh.

Requirements:
- (25%) Assignments consisting of exercises from Musical Acoustics
and experiments using household materials.
Homework will be due on Thursdays each week and will be graded;
however, you are strongly encouraged to work together.
- (25%) Five 20-minute quizzes spaced throughout the semester.
- (25%) A final paper (details later) discussing the acoustics of your
favorite instrument and the experiments you have performed on it.
Experiments will be done in class or in small groups.
- (20%) A final exam covering all of the concepts of the course.
- ( 5%) In-class participation.
