Airports Near Williamsburg

The closest airport to Williamsburg is the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF). It is about a half hour drive from the airport to the College.

Also nearby are Norfolk International Airport (ORF) and Richmond International Airport (RIC), which are about an hour from the College.

Airport Shuttle

The Williamsburg Airport Shuttle provides service between any of the three local airports and Williamsburg. Reservations are required, and may be made at 757-218-9539 or on their website.

If flying into Richmond you can also take the Groome Transportation Shuttle, which leaves frequently from the airport and does not require reservations. You can call 800-552-7911 for more information, or check out their website.

Save your receipts if you expect to be reimbursed.

Driving Directions from Norfolk or Newport News

Take Interstate 64 to exit 242A (the second chance at exit 242 coming from the direction of Newport News), and get onto Route 199.

Take 199 about 5 miles to the 4th traffic light and the 2nd intersection with signs that indicate the College of William and Mary. Turn right onto Jamestown Road, route 5 East.

After 1.0 miles on Jamestown Road you will first see William and Mary on the left, and after 0.2 miles more, turn left (opposite St. Steven's Lutheran Church) into a parking lot and park.

Park near Phi Beta Kappa Hall if possible (see map), in any Faculty/Staff spot. When you reach Small Hall we will give you a visitor parking permit.

To walk from Phi Beta Kappa Hall to Small Hall, follow the path into campus past the Muscarelle Museum. Small Hall is on the left.

Driving Directions from Richmond

From IS 64, take exit 234A to route 199 East.

Stay on 199 about 8 miles, and turn left onto Jamestown Road, route 5 East, at the 2nd traffic light.

Remind us to give you a visitor parking permit if you plan to park on campus. Cars left parked on campus without a parking permit may receive a ticket.
