The SAMPLE experiment at MIT-Bates uses parity-violating electron scattering at very backward angles on both the proton and deuteron to study the strangeness contribution to the proton's magnetic moment, and the axial structure of the nucleon, including the anapole moment. Measurements are made at very low Q2 using a custom Cherenkov-based spectrometer. This complements the physics goals of the HAPPEX and G0 programs at Jefferson Lab.
