Physics 108 - Suggested Alternate Texts - Spring 2016

There are many alternate textbooks that you might find useful as additional references.

I list several that I like here, that cover similar material at a similar depth (and with similar mathematical difficulty) to our text, and that are available from the Physics Library or from Swem Library.

You might find it useful to consult one or more of these, either to read an alternate presentation of the concepts, or to find more examples and problems that are worked out in detail, or even to find more problems to attempt. In most cases, the answers to the odd-numbered problems are given in the back of the book.

In general, most texts entitled something like ``College Physics'' are appropriate (those that are entitled things like ``University Physics'' or ``Physics for Scientists and Engineers'' use calculus, and are more appropriate for the Physics 101/102 sequence - however, they might still be useful to you).
