Physics 107 - Suggested Alternate Texts - Fall 2013
There are many alternate textbooks
that may be useful as references. I list several that I like here,
that cover similar material at a similar depth (and with similar
mathematical difficulty) to our text, and that are available
either in Swem or in the Physics library.
You might find it useful to consult one or more of these, either
to read an alternate presentation of the concepts, or to find more
examples and problems that are worked out in detail, or even
to find more problems to attempt. In most cases, the answers to
the odd-numbered problems are given in the back of the book.
In general, most texts entitled something like ``College
Physics'' are appropriate (those that are entitled things like
``University Physics'' or ``Physics for Scientists and
Engineers'' use calculus, and are more appropriate for
the Physics 101/102 sequence).
